O Encontro de Tipografia tem vindo a afirmar-se como o ponto de encontro, em Portugal, de todos os que consideram a tipografia como fundamental nas suas vidas. Ele ocorre, de ano para ano, em diferentes instituições de ensino superior portuguesas. Este ano, o 9.º Encontro de Tipografia (9ET) vai decorrer no Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, organizado tanto pela Licenciatura em Design e Tecnologia das Artes Gráficas, como pelo Mestrado em Design Editorial.
O tema do 9ET é “thinking about tomorrow”. Não se trata apenas de tentar saber o que aí vem a seguir, mas também da necessidade de partilhar a atitude comum a todos os que trabalham direta ou indiretamente com tipografia – designers, investigadores, professores e alunos – que é trabalhar a pensar no amanhã, até mesmo quando se é influenciado pelo passado.
The Typography Meeting has become a recurring event in Portugal for all of those who consider typography an essential part of their lives. Every year it takes place at a different higher education institution. The 9th Typography Meeting (9ET) will be held at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, jointly organized by the Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Graphic Technology and Master’s Degree in Editorial Design.
This edition’s theme is “thinking about tomorrow”. This is meant to represent not only the effort that goes into imagining what to do next, but also to make us – designers, researchers, teachers and students in the typographic field – aware of the need to work today thinking about the future, even if inspired by the past.
